2001 Christmas Card108 viewsThis is my first animation I did for a Christmas card. As you can see, I was using a slow computer, so the frame rate is very bad (it's too fast). I tried fixing it, so it was even faster when I first released it (heh heh)...

2006 Christmas Card99 viewsPlease be patient as it loads (about 5 minutes on dialup)...
Merry Christmas everyone! Autumn is a new addition to the caste of characters, and our family. Lady passed away last year, so we got a new puppy. I'll post pictures of her one of these days. She's still a puppy, so her character still has room for improvement. If anyone is wondering about the funny orange and yellow glob moving on her head, that's supposed to be flames. Leigh is the one that finds Autumn glowing. The heart is Leigh's trademark. She's the new owner/mommy that has yet to make an actual apperance, even tho she's been in two Christmas cards. Maybe next year the shy gal will make an appearance for all our readers...but no promises! Autumn was supposd to distract Leigh long enough for Holly and Sly (GASP) to grab the cookies. I know it's amazing, but food can bring even rivals together! But I never said Holly shared the cookies wih Sly...

2007 Christmas Card93 viewsWow, this is by far the largest (in size and MB) and longest card that I've made yet. Actually, to be honest, I was planning on doing a still card this year due to my schedule, but I changed my mind after I finished coloring the pictures (Christmas day). Besides, I wouldn't want to break a 6 year standing tradition, now would I? So I animated this card after everything was drawn and colored, which made things very awkward and difficult! One reason why it was released a day late. And if you're wondering what the background is, that's tone (it's supposed to give the appearance of sand) that became moire after I resized the images in Photoshop. You'll just have to ignore it, because I didn't have time to try and fix it. Plus, it was my first endeavor to use tone in Manga Studio >_<
But as promised (in last year's card), I have delivered the goods...namely Leigh. That's all I'll say, least I ruin the card for those that are reading this as it loads >=3
Anyway, check back later if you're interested in downloading the last picture frame in all it's glory (12IN x 9IN @ 600DPI = very LARGE file). I hope that you enjoyed your Christmas, and that you'll have a happy new year!
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR from Lee and the rest of the gang here at Cartoonist for Christ...
P.S. Oh, and don't forget to move your curser over the characters at the end for hidden comments!

2002 Christmas Card91 viewsI made this animation a little more interactive. If you slowly move your mouse around on the picture, stuff may appear. Don't click on the visit web site link, because it's linked to the wrong URL now.

85 viewsGuy's campaign was doing great, but his only concern was that another candidate would enter the race. In Hawaii, to win the primary, the candidate must have 50% of the vote + 1. That's made more difficult by 3 parties. Then enters Fred Fogel! Believe it or not, we knew him from when my Dad worked with Fred in the national guard while we lived on Oahu 7-9 years ago. We didn't know he was even living on this island. Fred's a funny guy, and you'd just have to know him to understand the lil tid bit at the end about no donations (he really didn't accept any donations). Suffice it to say, Guy still won the primary by 460 votes. Here are the numbers:
Guy Enriques - 2,354 - 52.2%
Bob Jacobson (incumbent) - 1,894 - 42%
Fred Fogel - 124 - 2.8%

84 viewsThis is an actual account given by Guy at one of his meetings. Always be careful what you say, even while campaigning, because it may come back to haunt you! His mother is quoting one of the many statements that Guy likes to use.

2008 Costco contest81 viewsI drew this for the cartoon contest that Costco held. When I first visited Costco in Kona, not providing plastic bags was a foreign concept to me. As I was walking around, a worker brought out a bunch of empty boxes on a cart just like in my drawing and announced that anyone could use the boxes if they wanted. There was a mad scramble as the worker was mugged for boxes. That scene still stays with me till this day. I've noticed during my last visit that they keep the boxes at the registers now =D
And you wouldn't believe how few pictures there are of Costco vests or merchandise. I had to settle for drawing plain boxes because I rarely go to Kona (my Dad does the shopping). I really wanted to draw the boxes that they use =\

74 viewsGuy started off his campaign with ice cream socials. Everyone loved this, and it was brought up why this had never been done before. Well, I guess word got around, and other candidates for other races, like Billy Kenoi, started serving food at their functions and get togethers! I have to say that this political year was good to my stomach. Also, ice cream socials aren't cheap, just to let you know.

2005 Christmas Card72 viewsHey, thanks for visiting the link I emailed/IM you! This is my sixth annual Christmas card animation. The animation is 300KB, so it should take a minute or two on dial-up to load! Yes, that is supposed to be Holly (a front view), and the one that's talking off to the side (you can't see her) is Holly's new owner I will be introducing shortly. Her name is Leigh (the girl's spelling of Lee) ^_^'
I would have had this out sooner (yes, what follows is my excuse), but we have just moved from Georgia back to Hawaii, and I still can't find my SCSI cable for my scanner! After searching through boxes for three months, I finally decided to take a picture of my drawing with our digital camera. The drawing and coloring isn't as high quality as usual since I was trying to get this out in two days (as it was, it took me ten hours total, including the information lost when my hard drive crashed) =P
I hope yall really enjoy the card that I slaved over this year to produce.

2008 Christmas Card71 viewsThis was a little late because I decided to buy and try using Anime Studio Pro (ASP) at the last minute since they had a fire sale, rather than use Adobe Livemotion. Plus the fact that I got sick yesterday afternoon, or it would have been done sooner. Anyway, despite the short comings of ASP, I think I'll stick with it. I was planing on using my voice for the narration, but time constraints and other problems prevented that. Hopefully the next card will have full sound. The animation is a tad big (3MB) because I added background music (yes, I bought it, so don't worry). In case you're wondering what vog is, it's smog spewed out of the Kilauea volcano and can make you very sick (and of course it's white). Here is a link to the Wikipedia definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vog
The mouse is supposed to represent me. Over the last year or so I've started developing my mouse drawings more than my other comics. I still don't have a name for it yet, tho. The feet you see under the vog is supposed to be our pets Autumn, Lady, and Holly. Well, I guess that's about it...oh, and the card will continually loop forever because ASP has literally no control over Flash scripting like Livemotion did.

55 viewsGuy really likes analogies. One of them is about pigs and chickens. Chickens only donate to the meal (eggs for breakfast, I suppose), but pigs give their all (bacon...yum). The people take him literally in this cartoon...and it wouldn't be all that far fetched if this really happened here (heh).

2003 Christmas Card54 viewsThis is probably the most complicated animation I've ever done. I spent a long time doing this one (those presents moving was a bit of a chore). I vowed after this that my next animations would be much simpler. The second part is actually a cartoon I've drawn that I decided to animate.
